The 3 year-old filly Sarve, bred and owned by Favour Stud, won the Listed Milkwood Stakes for fillies and mares over 1000m. LIelums, also bred and owned by Favour Stud, ran third.

Sarve is trained by Corné Spies and Lielums by Renate du Plessis. The two Favour Stud fillies were split by Blizzard Belle in second, trained by Yvette Bremner.

Bremner won the Mikwood Stakes for Favour Stud with Gilded Moon in 2009. Since then Favour Stud was dreaming about following up in this race and done it in sensational fashion on Friday.

Favour Stud also won with Humble Harry (Maiden Juvenile Plate) and Imperial Velvet (MR 72 handicap) to make it a wonderful meeting for them.

The meeting was switched from the turf track to the polytrack after heavy rain in the days leading up to the meeting in Port Elizabeth.

The polytrack saved the day and were giving the thumbs up by jockey Gavin Lerena who rode four winners on the day. Two of those winners, Sarve and Imperial Velvet, were for Favour Stud.
