Foul weather and fabulous racing by Favour Stud

Fairview Turf

10 June 2016
Although the weather conditions were a huge challenge on Friday, 10 June 2016 at Fairview, Favour Stud did not fail to impress. Rain, wind and mud were part of the package on this whirlwind day.

Favour Stud's Themla and  La Myst on a winning spree

The highlight of the day was definitely the Express Maiden Plate over 1600m.  Favour Stud dominated the race from the word go. Themla, the Lateraal Filly out of the mare Thembu (by Fort Wood) bred and owned by Favour Stud had a phenomenal race on Fairview turf to finish in first place. Pilot Chase Maujean were riding her all the way to the line with Favours’ La Myst hot on her heels in 3rd place with Muzi Yeni in the saddle. Well done to trainer Renate du Plessis and the owners Ernst and Engelize du Preez with this great performance.

Big smiles for Favour Racing

The lovely black filly Favour's Pride also had a great run. This black filly by Harry Hall (Sire Pivotal) out of the mare SACRED SISTER did Favour Stud proud to run 2nd by only 0.1 length in the Lady's Slipper Stakes for 2 year old fillies over the 1400m trip at Fairview.

Though not a winner yet, she is showing promising form, and we hope that she will mature into a lovely racing filly. Congratulations to Corne Spies her conditioner. Hopefully she will get them soon.

Captain Disco ran a cracking first run for us over the 1400m Maiden event. Drawn wide, his pilot Chase Maujean did a very good job to get him in the race. He was running on nicely, and we are hoping for some nice improvement after that run. Thank you owner Norman Deetlefs for giving him a chance with us.
